Now that’s 2015 its time to talk about the wedding trends and what to expect. I will say that its just my opinions but it seems like in the word of internet this is what everyone is talking about. So here we go.

Colors: In the past year of 2014 I have seen lots of bright pop colors, like bright pink, greens, blues, and reds. But in this year the prediction is that we will start seeing more of pastels colors. Even though lots of brides love bright pink color it will be more toned down and have more of a subtle look to it. Like I said it will have more of pastels than bright.

Wedding Dress: Put it simply it will be more off the shoulder gowns. After following the runways of bridal shows it seems like the strapless dresses are not the popular anymore but also the church traditional look of the dresses are also not in the style for this year. This has not been a popular look for quite awhile now, but the way it was presented during fashion week was very classic and clean, sometimes with a whimsical look.

Ceremony: Now talking about traditional, the ceremony seems like will be getting shorter and shorter. Even to the point of where ceremony will be just a big party in some words. After photographing many wedding in the past year I have noticed that the ceremonies are getting shorter to a point of where its just for 10 to 15 mins long, and right after that is the party. So it will not be a surprise to see the ceremonies completely infused with the wedding day that guest will not even be able to tell if it was ceremony or not.

Rustic: This is not really new but I think it will pick up even more this year. Having mason jars, burlap, lace and custom (hand written) posters on a black board or on glass seems to pick up more and more in trend. Lots of venues now hire professionals that can create this look for the couples. Having rustic chairs with unique table is another way to get away from regular round tables.

Entrances: It used to be that at the beginning of the reception, the newly married couple, their wedding party and parents would be introduced by the emcee before going into the first dance of the evening. Now, couples are opting to either only introduce themselves or going all out with a major entrance and choreographed dance. We are seeing couples work with choreographers to surprise their guests right at the start of their reception. While this was always seen at Sweet 16s and Mitzvahs, brides and grooms are bringing this trend to their own big day. Don’t be surprised if at the next wedding you attend, a full out dance starts as the entire party is introduced.

So don’t get surprised when you go to the wedding next time to see lots of changes not only to the schedule of the wedding but also to the themes and the style from the traditional wedding.

Wow this post is overdue but if you have seen the Facebook post on October 24th I have mentioned something like “Had an opportunity to photograph a unique project today, here is a sneak peek of a selfie on the roof top. It was so bright it acutely made my eyes water.” But anyways, here’s what I have been doing in the past few months.

I have mentioned this to some of my clients but not only do I love to photograph portraits/weddings but I do have architectural degree from Penn State. Which in reality I do like architecture, and after working in the field of architecture (plus engineering) I just didn’t like to sit behind the desk for hours working on one project for a very very very long time. After I started photographing as my career I always wondered how I can use my architectural degree in photography area, and few years after practice I jumped in fully into architectural photography full on.

The project that you see in this blog post is one of the major project that I have done in the beginning of that route. This was incredibly challenging because I knew that there will be lots of editing for this project because of all the power lines in front of the building. Yes there are simple way to delete them from the images but the owner wanted the sky to remain in the windows from that evening and next day morning. So after long hours of editing you don’t even know that there are power lines right in front of the building. The end result is fantastic and I love the images from this project. I am definitely looking forward to be doing this kind of projects more often now.

So I wanted to talk about something new. Yet for some of you, you have noticed it already but I still want to make an announcement about it. What am I talking about? Its the new logo design for my business.

Some time just before end of last year I got to talk to a wonderful person who designs logos and not only logos but she and her partner does very good job at web designs, cards and much more. Who am I talking about? Well its Jenny Cross from TwoTone Creative. Jenny did a great job because I was looking for a very versatile log design since I am now not only going to be photographing weddings, portraits, but also architecture and real estate. This did make me wonder how would this be possible because one field is completely opposite from another. Yet this did not stop Jenny from creating something this good and with a clear message in the logo + text.

Its been a long time since I have written any blog posts, but also its been very, very, very busy end of the year for me. Lots has happened and lots is about to happen but its all for the best of this company. I am taking new risks and new routes in photography and yet I am enjoying every minute of it.

But this post is to introduce the new website or should I say a new landing website. I am still going to do wedding photography and portrait photography here in Denver or for new client in California. But the new route is architectural and real estate photography.
