EcoTech Enterprises is not your average company

Usually I don’t really promote other business because I try to give fair trade to everyone, but if so I try to be as honest as possible as well as to promote everyone I can. Yet this time it’s different. When EcoTech Enterprises has contacted me to photograph for them while they were doing what they do I just did my job which I was hired for. After that EcoTech Enterprises has stood out for me because I had few more encounters with other pressure washing companies while photographing few home in real estate side.

EcoTech Enterprises is a great company and does a really good job at pressure washing pretty much everything that needs to be cleaned. I understand that there are plenty of companies that do pressure washing here in Sacramento yet this company is on the whole different level and that’s why I wanted to write this blog post about.

Their equipment is great not only for environment but also to get the job done right. The equipment that EcoTech Enterprises uses to pressure wash has two things which stood out to me that are different from all other companies. First it protects the environment; by using vacuum system to collect dirty used water before it reaches the sewers and the chemicals which they use to remove dirt are all environmentally safe. Second, they have very powerful pressure washer with all the attachments they need to get the job done right.

I have posted few photos from that photoshoot below but before that I wanted to say is “I would definatly recommend EcoTech Enterprises to not only the real estate agents but everyone who needs their driveways/sidewalks/sidings and so on to be cleaned.” They do incredible job and after them its so much easier to photograph exterior of a home.

Oh and I haven’t mentioned the best part, they services both in Sacramento metro area and Bay Area as well. So if you need to get a hold of them call Victor at (916) 750-4575 and see what they can do for you, also you can visit their website by following this link: www.ecotechmaintenance.com

Here’s an extra before and after of what they do:

Before and After a Sacramento Real Estate Photography

In Sacramento Real Estate Photography I get to see plenty of homes not only the ones that I photograph but also the ones that are online when looking for agents. Yes, before contacting the agent for the first time I do use online resources to its full potential. Looking at what they had in the past and the present gives me an idea if I should be reaching out the the agent for real estate photography services.

This blog post is all about before and after. Now I do have an online gallery where anyone can see before and after photos (click HERE to that gallery), and you can see anything from HDR software, to smartphone photos, and what Shutter Avenue Photography can do. Although this is more about regular price homes and two examples which both agents used a smartphone or DSLR prior to me delivering them better photos of their listing. Take a look at the images below to see for yourself why hiring a photographer can make a big difference for your listings. Sample images below are only a few photos which are very similar to what the agent photographed of the same listing.

Are Smartphones Better Than DSLRs?

Recently I had a good conversation with one of the real estate agents regarding photography of listings and are the smartphones better than regular DSLRs. The agent was questioning if the new phones have better cameras than entry level cameras and why should anyone hire a pro to photograph listings for them. After explaining to him why DSLRs are still the best choice and to understand how to use them, I have decided to share my knowledge with the rest of you. Yes it is true that the new cell phones such as Samsung Galaxy s8 or the new iPhone X/8 do have great cameras, processors or the lens they are still not even close to what even an entry level DSLRs can do or even point and shoot. Here are few reasons why:

Zoom Is Not The Same: one of the biggest downfalls of the smartphones is the zoom feature. Yes the new models of smart phones from this year or even past year are great but even a point and shoot cameras have better zoom than a smartphone. Todays smart phone can maybe pull of a zoom of 2x optical zoom but a regular point a shoot camera can do ten time that and if we go with DSLR then it’s even a bigger margin. So if you are going for a zoom then a point and shoot camera will do a much better job of zooming in while photographing landscapes, flowers, portraits if zoom is needed without damaging the pixels.

Low Light Conditions: Have you ever tried to get good shot of fireworks on 4th of July or even at a party with smart phone? Yes new smartphones are much better than maybe three year old smart phones but have you ever wondered why the pictures are still blurry or so much noise or even still dark? Well the sensor in a smart phone is extremely small do to the size of the phone but on DSLRs the sensor is at least x5 bigger. That means the bigger the sensor the more light it can take in. One thing to mention would be even the flash on smartphone is small comparing to build in flash on a point a shoot camera. Which makes a huge difference when it’s really dark. Also that is why when a real estate agent uses their phones to photograph a room it looks awful.

More Control: Another major downfall of smartphones camera is the lens. Yes sure there are plenty of apps that can let you do many things with your smartphone camera; such as ISO, White Balance and so on. But in the end DSLR will give you much more flexibility than a smartphone. DSLR have the best thing comparing to smartphone and it’s that you can change lenses. Yes you might say that there are plenty of attachments to the smartphone to make it more wide angle or zoom but still the glass in those attachments is cheap; and the glass is what makes the photo look good or just ok. This brings me to the settings of smartphones; even though there are apps that let you have more control other your camera, yet you can’t still control your aperture  (how much light you want in). Even if there is an app, you still have more control over every option of a DSLR than a smartphone. Plus having all the buttons and knobs to change the settings quickly makes it so much easier to control DSLR than smartphone.

So in conclusion, I don’t’ think smartphone have taken over the DSLRs just yet and I don’t think they will anytime soon. Also I don’t believe everyone should carry a point a shoot/DSLR with them everywhere (I surely don’t). But if you think that smartphone can do a better job than a DSLR the short answer is no.

Short Post From Last Year’s Interior Design Photography Shoot

I have so much to show regarding interior design photography which I do but since I don’t have time to sit down and write all the posts some photos will only see the light of day (like these photos) a year later. This is a project which I have done last year in Denver, CO and even though this is not all the photos but these are my favorites. The company which hired me to do interior design photography of the whole home is called Pure Design and they do really cool modern updates to homes which I do like. Take a look at the photos below and see for yourself what they do.

Apps on my phone

It’s been really busy for me in the past few weeks (now it seems like months) that I didn’t really have much time to write any posts. Although this is a great post for me because it helps when it gets really busy. The app which I wanted to share about is something that help me to be productive and stay on top of my game when the computer is not around. They are not in any particular order so I can’t really say which one would be number 1. So here we go:

Calendars 5 by Readdly

This is a great app. I have used their previously older version which was Calendars+ but recently my wife’s app on her phone didn’t want to synchronize with google calendar. After few hours of trying to figure out why it seems like the company stopped all updates and it was replaced with Calendars 5. But why this app for calendar not google or apple calendar? Well I love how the interface looks like, very clean, professional, tons of things it can do and best of all it syncs with all my phones and computers. Yet my favorite part would be that any time I put in address in scheduled photoshoot and I can then by just clicking on the address it opens google maps app. I like this.

Everlance

This app tracks my miles since I do lots of driving. It was free when I got it but now there is a cost to it. I do like it for simplicity of it, the interface is good, tracks pretty accurately even if I am stuck in traffic, but it seems like when it’s time to export the my CPA it doesn’t do a great job at it. So I am thinking of moving to MilesIQ just haven’t done that yet.

Scanner Pro by Readdly

Without this app I would have lots and lots of paper everywhere. Previously I have used in the past Tiny Scanner but one thing I didn’t like was that when I needed to look up a document which was scanned on specific date, I would have to look through all the scans. Now with Scanner Pro it really simple since it also let me search by date. But overall they are very similar, both have folders, and other features such as export files or email them. But one thing that makes this app better than Tiny Scanner is that you can export a certain page or pages comparing to Tiny Scanner it will export all pages scanned in a specific folder. Oh and Scanner Pro also let you highlight specific text and export it as well. I use it not only for documents but also for all the checks which I get from my clients.

Light Track

This is app is the best all I have used to see where will the sun be on a specific location. I use this app 80% of the time on all of my jobs. It’s great to see where I need to be to catch or avoid the sun. Also it understands elevations, time, dates and so on. Great app for photographers.

Evernote

Yes there are better apps for taking notes but this one so far is my go to. I like how I can make a specific folder for specific job and take all the notes I need. Then I can go to my iPad and do even more with it by writing with stylist and add more information for quick reference. Also it syncs with my iPhone, iPad and my computer so this helps a lot. I can also search for document or even words throughout all of my documents or specific folder.

Zoho CRM/Mail

This is just an apps not the main system which I use on my computer but it helps to get all the emails as well as quickly access all the notes and documents for each client that I have in my database. Also I have notices that Zoho Mail received the emails much quicker than google mail app since my emails do go through GoDaddy.

Just a s a side note; yes I do use other apps but they more like Snapseed, Instagram, Facebook Page, Feedly and other which are not so much as productive but more like get the news or marketing purposes mostly.
